Gareth Plant - Head Chef

Born and raised in the Scarborough area, I attended Scarborough College Independent School until I received my GCSE grades. I then moved onto Yorkshire Coast College to pursue qualifications in Catering and Hospitality. Whilst working in the industry I gained NVQ qualifications and valuable on the job training attending the College on a day release basis. I was employed by The Crown Spa Hotel in October 2001 as a Chef De Partie. Over the years I have worked with some very inspirational Head Chefs and have worked my way up the Crown Spa Hotel career ladder. In May 2006 I was given the opportunity to replace the departing Head Chef. Obviously the challenges ahead were exciting and a long time dream, so there wasn�t much deliberating. I am now very proud to work with a very dedicated, enthusiastic young team in the kitchen, and indeed the Hotel in general. These are exciting times we are encountering, and I hope all our targets will be achieved.
