HEROES WELCOME IN SCARBOROUGH “Leading the Way”
Scarborough, Yorkshire’s premier and Britain’s first resort (Historical fact), has adopted a Heroes Welcome initiative in support of the Armed Forces. The Scheme is designed to offer a range of discounts and service upgrades to veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces when they visit the town and area.
Over 300 businesses have signed up including, Scarborough Borough Council, First Trans Pennine Express, leading hotels , theatres including Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s Theatre in the Round, restaurants, retailers, major leisure attractions and parks, holiday camps and even the Casino have pledged support.
Of note Scarborough Pleasure Steamers and Dunkirk Veteran Small Ships the MS Regal Lady and Coronia were first to enlist!
Service personnel visiting the town will enjoy a warm welcome and wherever the Heroes logo is displayed (see above) a discount or upgrade should be available, however this may be subject to operational ability.
