Crown Spa Hotel Scarborough is proud to be a "GOLD" award winner of the green tourism business award and committed to sustainable development.
In 2008 the Yorkshire Moors & Coast Tourism Partnership has selected 10 businesses to join a pilot scheme of the Green Tourism Business grading scheme.
Sustainability is something that the team at the Crown are very committed to from 2005 to 2009 a 25% reduction of CO2 output from Water, Heating, Light and Power was made. We are presently well on our way to improving on this target in the fourth comming year. The Organisation is committed to reducing CO2 output by 50% 2015 from our 2005 levels. The EU target is 20% by 2020.
Presently the organisation emits £32.5 kg's of CO2 per room night down from 45.7kg's in 2005 and guests are offered the opportunity to "offset" this CO2 if required.
