Flabby Britons will soon be invited to get in shape, US-style, when one of America’s high-power gym brands opens up in the UK. Equinox, the upscale fitness chain familiar to any frequent visitor to New York, is scouting locations for two gyms in London, and plans to open its doors next year before extending the chain throughout Europe.
2. New Look founder takes an interest in Pure Gym – The Telegraph
Mr Singh, who recently returned to the helm of the high street retailer amid falling sales, bought into Pure Gym through his Magenta Partners vehicle which invests on behalf of his family trusts. The gym chain run by former Golden Tulip hotel boss Peter Roberts has just completed a third round of fund-raising through a rights issue, believed to have been 50pc oversubscribed.
