Runswick Bay

Runswick Bay - is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England.

Hinderwell lies about a mile from the coast on the A174 road between the towns of Loftus and Whitby.  It may also be visited by the Cleveland Way Footpath.  Until 1958 the area was served by Staithes and Hinderwell railway stations.

Lying about 5 miles north of Whitby, the village is split into two parts - a few houses at the top of the cliffs contrast sharply with the red-roofed cottages that appear to tumble down the cliffside to the seafront below.
